Here’s some pictures from our recent two-week Montana vacation. The family agrees that it is pretty much the best vacation we’ve had so far.

I caught this Northern Pike on our first night. It weighed 4 lbs and was 25 inches long.

We did a lot of canoeing in the lake near our home rental. Joshua and Rachel went out with Dad pretty much every day.

Jared’s 4 lbs 25.5 inch Northern Pike, 1/2 inch longer than his Dad’s! He broke his fishing pole catching it.

This was a typical day’s catch. Mostly perch with a few sunfish. We had a fish dinner every other night.

For some reason we caught a fair share of turtles as well. They aren’t much fun to get the hook out of.

Aunt Becky took us to Moose Lake, where we caught 39 trout in a few hours. Always a great day fishing up there!

Here are some cakes I have done over the last few months.

Jared’s new company had a retreat this weekend at the Rockin’ R Ranch in Antimony, Utah. We had such a blast at the dude ranch. Paige loved feeding the horses and even got to ride one. Jared rode a steer and he and a few co-workers wrestled a pair of pants onto a steer. It was a great opportunity for both of us to get to know the people Jared works with, especially since he just started there. It was an awesome weekend all around!

This month I was able to take a Wilton Cake Decorating class. I took course 4, which is learning gum paste flowers and decorations. Here are the cakes I made. The pink one didn’t get finished, but the blue one was my “final project” with all of the gumpaste flowers I made.

We loved having Christmas this year in our new house. Jared had so much fun coating the house in Christmas lights, Paige loved pulling the bows off of all of the presents, and I got to make lots of cakes this month! We were also excited to have Christmas Eve dinner at Michael and Danielle’s house, and to talk to you all on Christmas Day.  Here are a few pictures of our Christmas.

I am a terrible mother for taking 8 weeks to post about this, but here are some pictures from Paige’s first birthday party.  She had such a fun time with all of her cousins!
